INTERVIEWS AND CONVERSATIONS ABOUT THEATRE

Interview with Wojciech Rodak

Director of the play tom in the village
TR WARSAW. Premiere on April 24, 2022

"...I first learned about it 10 years ago when I saw a film by Canadian director, screenwriter and actor Xavier Dolan. The title of the film is "tom"in Polish, "tom a la ferme" in French. The film is based on the play by Canadian playwright Michel Marc Bouchard. It was then that I thought that I would like to do this play in the theater someday. When I got the opportunity to prepare a performance here, it came back to me. Especially since I can somehow relate to my own personal experience of village life, moving to a big city, and moments of difficult family relationships. I think this drama reflects that very strongly. This is such a text....”

Interview with Paweł Sztarbowski

Deputy Program Director of the Universal Theater in Warsaw. Interview before the premiere of FILOKTET EX MACHINA directed by Agata Koszulińska
Premiere: March 19, 2022

"It seems to me that the idea of Agatha and this performance is based on the participation of Kinga Chudobinskaya-Zdunik, who has been struggling with multiple sclerosis for several years. In the play, he talks about his personal experience, about a muddy diagnosis, anxiety, and suffering. She doesn't shy away from a sense of humor in all of this, which makes her confession even more moving. Suddenly, the acting scenes associated with the story of the myth of Philoctetes cease to be abstract, find their roots.", " Kinga is present live on stage, reads excerpts from his diary. The entire surrounding world created by the actors becomes a series of mirror images in which her story will be viewed"”

Interview with Zuzanna Galewicz

the actress of the performance is closer to the clouds. I'M GOING TO LEAVE NOW.
Theater Academy in Warsaw. Premiere January 22, 2022

"...a chance encounter, six women. Everyone has their own path, and as it turns out, all six women are on this roof at the same time. Everyone is surprised by the presence of others. Everyone has their own "moment", when they get there, they stop for a moment alone with themselves. She doesn't see everything else, and then begins to get her bearings: I don't think I'm alone here. There are other women here besides me. I wonder what they'll say. But each of us has our own five minutes to ourselves...”

Rozmowa z Agnieszką Błońską

Conversation with Agnieszka Blonska

director of the play devils
General Theater in Warsaw. Premiere on December 7, 2019.

"Devils is an attempt to read Ivashkevich from a female point of view. Ivashkevich is first of all an inspiration and a starting point for work. This is not an adaptation or faithful reproduction of the story. Its elements appear, but the most important are the themes that we worked with, which served as a source of inspiration for the material and text that will be in the play...”

Rozmowa z Joanną Wichowską

Interview with Joanna Wichowska

author of the script and dramaturgy of the play devils
Warsaw Theater. Premiere on December 7, 2019

"On the one hand, we want to slightly blur this rigid division between the biological sexes, and on the other-to use it ironically. If you think about the source material, there's Mother Joanna, the nuns, and the priest. Only at the beginning of the performance will we use this formula written down in Ivashkevich, and then we will create a world in which the fact that we have genitals does not define us so much...”

Rozmowa z Wojciechem Kościelniakiem

Interview with Wojciech Kościelniak

director of the play novichok
The Collegium Nobilium Theater of the Theater Academy in Warsaw. Premiere: November 29, 2019

Diploma work of students in Musical theater acting skills
"We must remember that, in my opinion, the diploma is not entirely successful if there are one or two main roles, and the rest work only "satellite". That's not why they study for four years and then don't have a chance. Another point is that I am trying to build this scenario in such a way as to show the strengths of students ... ”

Rozmowa z Małgorzatą Majerską i Michałem Juraszkiem

Rozmowa ze Sławomirem Grzymkowskim

Interview with Slawomir Grzymkowski

actor of the play "Everything flows" directed by Janusz Oprinski
Soho Theatre, Warsaw Premiere November 28, 2019.

Rozmowa z Łukaszem Lewandowskim

Interview with Lukasz Lewandowski

the author of the script and actor of the play Gorokhov
Drama Theater m.st, Warsaw. Premiere on October 11, 2019.

Diploma work of students in Musical theater acting skills
"...I have a feeling that there are some texts that it would be a pity to leave only on the shelf. Such passages that someone wrote, someone created brilliantly for me, and I would like to hear it out loud. I'd like to hear it out loud. I'd like someone to be with me when it rains. It is a pity that it remains only in this intimate relationship: the reader, the book and its author. Maybe we can invite more people to travel together...”

Rozmowa z Justyną Sobczyk oraz Agnieszką Kryst

Interview with Justyna Sobczyk and Agnieszka Kryst

director and choreographer of the play trolls
THEATRE 21 premiere 26 September 2019 Ignacy Jan Paderewski Primary School No. 373 in Warsaw....

"Give up control, tame your trolls” - these are the last words that we sing together with the children. This is an important message for me. There are many articles about problems in schools and how there is a lot of aggression there. We believe that the control itself will not be resolved. Everyone has their own Troll. Our show should provide such inspiration to gently get in touch. Therefore, after each performance in the classroom, we will leave a square of our material that will be somewhere on the side and to which you can return with your memory, but also to the performance, to a certain quality of life together.

Rozmowa z Pawłem Sztarbowskim

Interview with Paweł Sztarbowski

Deputy Director of d / S Programs of the Universal Theater in Warsaw
General Theater in Warsaw. Premiere on September 20, 2019.

"More than two years ago, I came across information about the Trojans directed by Omar Abusaada, which he shot with Syrian refugees in Amman, Jordan. Later, half the world moved out with this play about the history of the Trojans, women who immediately after the war for three in the ruins of the city are trying to find their sons, husbands, to bury their bodies. This story became a pretext for stories about these modern Trojans, these modern Syrian women fleeing war. I was struck by the sight. Then I started looking for some information about Omar's work. I learned that Omar Abusaada always works with Mohammed Al Attar, the playwright. I contacted them. We met several times. They were enthusiastic about the idea of collaborating on a play in Poland. ”

Rozmowa z Dorotą Bzdylą i Damianem Mirgą

Conversation with Dorota Bzdyla and Damian Mirga

actors of the play " settings with saints, or conversations of images”
Theater Academy in Warsaw. Premiere September 20, 2019

Thesis of fourth-year students of the acting faculty.
"It's an amazing experience. Just like today, at this press rehearsal, during my monologue, one of the journalists stood, listened to me, nodded. I was beginning to be moved by the fact that someone agreed with me. I used to say, " What is it about people to cause each other such torment?" This is a phrase that is the highlight of my character. The Lord responded with a simple nod of His head, confirming that it was a terrible thing to shoot another person. An unimaginable thing. Through this close contact, I get excited and the viewer can be moved.. ”

Rozmowa z Grzegorzem Laszukiem

Interview with Grzegorz Laszuk

director of the play Golden Rock
Theater STUDIO teatr gallery. Premiere on September 20, 2019.

"Since we have such an opportunity, we try to support those who are just entering the artistic life and receive them as best as possible, so that they can develop their talents and enjoy their presence, young energy, things that we don't know, because they watch things that don't always reach us. Often these are students of foreign art universities who bring a new idea that we can get acquainted with and be on the wave of what is happening in European or world theater. This is a natural energy that we are very happy about. We try to be as open as possible...”

Rozmowa z Julią Skrzynecką i Rafałem Budnikiem

Interview with Julia Skrzynecka and Rafał Budnik

production designer of the play and creator of dolls
PUPPET THEATER. Premiere on April 11, 2019.

"In the Czech Republic and Slovakia, they care a lot about theater masters. If a certain generation ends when it is known that a specialist craftsman will retire from one of the studios, five years earlier, and sometimes more, a designer is accepted who should already learn, know what, what, and how. Of course, he gets the chisel after the master. He knows what to do with it. In Poland, jobs in technical studios are constantly being cut. Specialists die without leaving any successors. The situation is getting worse every month...”

Rozmowa z Moniką Strzępką

Conversation with Monika Strzępka

director of the play Platonov
The Collegium Nobilium Theater of the Theater Academy in Warsaw. Premiere: April 5, 2019.

Diploma performance by students of the Acting Department of the Theatre Academy in Warsaw
"We take text analysis very seriously. I wanted them to get into this habit. There's not much you can learn if you don't do a thorough analysis of the text. In my professional work, I have developed such a habit that I can't help but follow the author. Chekhov always said, "It's all written down there”" and it's really all written down there. It's such an adventure that you take this text, start digging through it and looking for important things, and in doing so, you can have a lot of fun. When implementing Platonov, I fully trusted Chekhov's text..."
